We are excited to announce that GerBI (German BioImaging – GMB e.V.) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with de.NBI (German Network for Bioinformatics Infrastructure https://www.denbi.de/). This agreement formalizes a collaboration in which de.NBI provides cloud infrastructure to GerBI for the deployment and operation of a centralized OMERO platform.

The OMERO instance will be openly available to the entire German bioimaging community, serving as a central test repository for bioimaging data as well as a platform for training and education. Within this partnership, GerBI will define requirements, operate and support the OMERO service, and drive adoption within the imaging community, while de.NBI will provide and maintain the underlying cloud infrastructure.

Together, GerBI and de.NBI are building a sustainable, scalable resource that strengthens bioimage data management and training for the bioimaging community.
